Ayurveda

It translates to “the science of life.” Ayurveda is a 5000-year-old science still used in India today to understand and bring balance to the body, the mind, and the soul. Determining a person’s constitution will open doors to different diet and lifestyle choices in your ‘dinacharya’ or daily routine that can bring balance to your individual constitution. An individuals constitution is determined by the presence of the ‘doshas’; Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Doshas are combinations of the five elements that make up the all living and non-living things. Vata is composed of ether and air; Pitta is composed of fire and water, Kapha is composed of water and earth. Based on the combination of the doshas in each individual, food and lifestyle practices can achieve and maintain a healthy mind and body.
