The Fall Season and Ayurveda

As much as the doshas are present in each individual, they are also present in our external environment. The fall season, for instance, is the Vata time of year. The gunas (qualities) associated with Vata include: dry, light, mobile, cold, rough, subtle, and clear. Think about how these gunas manifest during the Fall. In order to remain in our balanced state, it is important to use the opposite gunas to stay grounded and avoid aggravating Vata in our individual constitutions.
